About Campus Vortex
Campus Vortex is a lot of different things.
It’s a place for students to find fair prices on text books, something that’s harder than it should be. Equally, it’s a place where students can sell their text books for a fair price. It’s a place for students to find jobs that are relevant to them and close to campus. It’s a place for students to offer their services as tutors to other students, a market that’s surprisingly untapped. It’s a place to buy or sell a mini fridge, a couch, a laptop, a bike, a basketball ticket, a guitar, a snowboard, an ipod, an xbox, or anything else. Not only does Campus Vortex provide a consolidated marketplace, it does so in a way that maximizes convenience for the student, by allowing users to sort postings by dorm, apartment complex, or neighborhood. If you’re shopping for a mini-fridge, doesn’t it make sense to find one that’s 100 feet way? We think so. That’s why proximity of users was a priority in the architecture of the site. We also recognize the value of social connection, which is why users can post a link to their Facebook or Myspace page, allowing users to find a seller with mutual friends. These are just some of the innovations we plan to make.
We’re constantly brainstorming ways to improve. We’d love to hear your feedback. Tell us what we can do better here.
